AFFORDABLE! FRIENDLY! I went for the first time last night for a much needed get-away. I saw Cindy and she was amazing! Perfect pressure! I also had the pleasure of spending quality time with Pikachu, one of their dogs. The two dogs that are there are licensed Emotional Support Animals, just like the kind that visit hospitals, so for the reviewer that said it was unsanitary....think again. :) I will definitely be back!

11/29/2010I visit Splendor Beauty Spa 1-2x/month.  Just when I think the experience can't get any better, it does!  The owner, Nancy, is super professional and values her customers.  I usually get the 75 min. foot reflexology / back massage from Mr. Song.  After seeing Mr. Song for several months, he knows my back/neck issues and I never leave without feeling completely rejuvenated.  I highly recommend this place!!

I go in feeling sore with my neck cramped and back aches, I leave feeling relaxed.  Nancy just moved her spa to a new location with more room and less noise, much more relaxing!  Don't hesitate GO! Just had a sweedish massage & an hour basic facial. They were fantastic! Made me comfortable from the moment I walked in. Not to mention the convenient hours that they are opened! They may not be a super high-end spa, but they are well worth every penny! Highly recommend!

GREAT PLACE!  Had knots in my lower back that just got worked out!  I have been trying everything -stretching, yoga, nothing worked...except Mr. Song!!  As a runner, my calves in my legs are alway full of knots too...those are gone too!  Looking forward to trying the facial next!  Nice, clean, and a good value.

I've been to Splendor numerous times and have had great experiences save for once (more on that later). First let me say that my wife is a licensed massage therapist (8 years) who went through extensive formal schooling in a state that has a formal licensing certification process, so I have a pretty good idea about what both Swedish, deep tissue, and reflexology massage are all about. That being said some of the staff at Splendor are quite knowledgeable, others might be less so but have always done a great job regardless. I believe massage is a combination of both knowledge and intuition. However, they charge a fraction of the price that other area spas do and in my opinion have therapist at varying levels of experience just like their higher priced counter parts. In addition, this is a no frills type of place in terms of decor but it's tranquil. They are clean though the rooms are small and as others have said, the walls are thin and there isn't a huge amount of privacy. Again, if you want to pay upwards of twice the price for similar services and a room that's a little fancier then go ahead, this is America and you are free to spend your money for the experience you want. But if you want a good quality massage at very reasonable price come to Splendor, you won't regret it. 

The only thing that really ever bothered me at Splendor was once when a male therapist paused my foot massage to take a cell phone call. I usually tip pretty well there given the low prices but that was the one exception (I still tipped pretty decent, just $5 less). The phone ringing thing is also a bit weird given the relaxed atmosphere and I wonder why they don't switch to a vibration or light based ring announcement. That would be a nice improvement. 

My only suggestion to owner would be to have a policy in place that therapists not interrupt the massage to take calls or to converse with other therapists. The only interruption should be for the therapist or receptionist to check with the client and ensure they are comfortable, which they have done for me in the past. 

In concluding my review, I'd say this is a great place for the price and the therapist do just as good as higher end places, especially if you're like me and want a firm touch. If they were to incorporate my suggestions I'd probably go back and change my review to 5 stars. As a side note, taking advantage of their discounted "book of massages" (prepaid services) is a great idea.

That was an awesome experience and you can't beat the price!  I got an hour foot reflexology with an extra 15 minutes.  It hurt so good! Elaine did a great job and I can't wait to go back.

I have been twice now & for 3 different services.
I have overall been happy, and the place is certainly clean & nice, & the staff is friendly.
My Mom & I went for the combo 1 hour massage & 1 hour facial.
The facial was pretty good, but could have used more face massage & pressure point work. Usually, when I've had other facials, when they are steaming your face or something like that, they then rub your feet or hands. But I was left alone for a while with the steam machine on my face. Not a big deal, just different.
My massage was very good. Although she did not speak much english (they are all Chinese), she asked a lot if the pressure was good, very helpful and all massage therapists should do this. She worked on my tush with her knees as if she was floating above me! Very skilled. My Mom also really liked her massage.
I went back for the foot reflexology, but was not as impressed. I had a guy this time, and he smelled like smoke, and applied a bit too much pressure in a few spots (and I can take pressure), and went outside to spit at one point; maybe he had a throat issue?  He was okay, but not very smooth & polished, a bit too rough.
I will go back at some point & maybe ask for a lady for the foot massage.

Sorry to hear that our Mr. Song smells like smoke he is one of our doctor here. His specialty is pressure point and acupuncture. Most people will find him stronger, because his philosophy is to get as much stimulation as possible in order to improve your circulation. He just promised me that he will only smoke before that after work. As for the itchy throat, it is their "culture" from northern China, not much I can do about it. However if anyone has any pain symptom or health related issues he is certainly the right guy to look for! He just cured my headache which has been bothering for years.

Went to Splendor Spa with 5 of my girl friends to celebrate our friend's birthday on 1/23/10.  Great deal on the 2-hour combo massage and foot reflexology. The owner, Nancy was very personable and the staff was very nice. I got a full body massage and Nancy came in to ask how I liked the intensity. For $75, I wasn't expecting much and almost expected a mediocre massage but wow...my masseuse got all my knots out.  The foot relexology was nice after the full body massage and they also give you a massage with it as well.  It's a nice, clean facility...there are no amenities such as steam, etc. but we went there for the massage and nothing else. The staff definitely knew what they were doing and we all left feeling so relaxed.  Too bad I live so far but at least a couple of my friends live close enough to take advantage of their services.

How Wonderful!!!
My mom, sisters and I took advantage of their 2 session special. It was our first time here and are so happy to have discovered this little gem.
I had the facial and full body massage for $75! Deal of the Decade!
Facility is quaint and Simple. Very clean.
My Facial was wonderful. I have had many facials in the past that cost double if not triple and definitely not as good as I had today.

My Massage was nothing like I've every had. OMG! Amazing! This is definitely NOT for the faint-hearted. And MOST Definitely NOT for the shy. I had a wonderful butt massage. That's right, he massaged my buttocks. He was so professional. Always made sure I was comfortable. The pressure deep tissue/ accupressure. Perfect!! You know when you ask your husband to rub your neck, he does but never quite as hard or deep as you want him to....well this is it baby...and for a whole hour!
Again, I have paid three times more at a Vegas spa for someone who barely applies any pressure.

The entire staff is sooo nice and professional.

My sister's and I have declared this our little secret spot!!

I am amazed with the service they provide.  I have been getting massages from various different places and I can confidently say that they know what they are doing.  They give true, authentic reflexology that really works!  If you haven't gone, please try and you are going to feel like million bucks after wards.  Because the price is more than reasonable, I try to compensate by giving more tips but still,  I feel like I got a deal of a century.  I highly highly recommend their service!

My girlfriend and I tried this place out for the first time today, since they offer a wonderful special of a 60 minute foot reflexology massage for only $25.  Since my hubby and I just moved here from SF, I'm trying to find my neighborhood "go to" places and this one turned to be a great one!  :)

As soon as walked in, the hostess was lovely and friendly.  And as we waited for our appointment, another customer commented that it was a great place as well.

This isn't a place for everyone tho - just because reflexology is a bit more in deeper pressure than you're normal foot massage and I believe they hit certain pressure points.  Not only do they massage your feet and legs, but they also massage your scalp, face, temples, head, back, shoulders, arms...pretty much a body massage!  But bare in mind, because of the low price, you do not have your own private room.  You're out in the front of the spa facility.  But if you close your eyes and on a Sunday afternoon (we went in around 4 PM), it's quiet, and the dance studio next door is closed.

It was also nice that if the pressure was too hard, they would know and decrease the pressure.  And because I'm 5 months pregnant, they made sure not to lay me down on my stomach, but instead had me sit up to massage my back/neck/shoulders.  And my therapist even brushed out my hair (since it was a bit tangled from the scalp massage), when she didn't have to!!

Overall, a great experience for an amazing price!  The people were really friendly and alert to your feelings.

I'd definitely go back again!  Again, it's not for the light hearted, you have to love deep tissue or shitasu to appreciate the deep pressured massage.

You are right about foot reflexology is not for anyone. However, you may also request the therapist to give a Swedish style, which is more on the muscle than your nerve system. We are now offering a 75 mins foot reflexology for $30 with the 15 mins extra, the therapist will take you to the private to complete the 15 mins back and lower leg massage plus the 15 mins extra, therefore you will get total of 30 mins back and lower leg massage in the private room. (1 hr foot reflexology: 15 mins head, shoulder and arm, 30 mins foot, 15 mins back and lower leg)



If you'd like a private room, I believe the cost is $45/hr, which in my book is still a steal!  :)  But for the $25/hr deal, I can afford to go more frequently (maybe even weekly)!  :)
